The Brooklyn is so much fun to sew and the finished bag ends up looking amazing. Even my teenage daughters were impressed and each of them asked for one of their own. I was a little intimidated and went slowly on the first one, but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it and get hooked. I bought the pattern 3 weeks ago and I’m already finishing up my 9th Brooklyn Traveler – they make great gifts! Alicia’s photo tutorial is incredibly helpful…you’ll pick up some awesome tips and tricks.

I made the handbag .. you also get the traveler too! Pattern is written with clear instructions. Has instructions for woven and vinyl.Take your time and this will be beautiful when done. Attaching bottom just use lots of pins/clips and stitch slowly. There are some thicknesses to sew when making this. Having the correct needle makes it easier. Has inside zipper pocket. I can’t wait to do another!

The Brooklyn Bag was Swoon’s contribution in the Bag of the Month group. The structure and look of the bag make it look a little intimidating. Do not hesitate to make this bag. It was one of the easiest bags I have ever made. The instructions are excellent and there are plenty of pictures to guide you along. I made the Traveler size for my niece and liked it so much I made one for myself. And my niece was thrilled — it was not just a plain old tote bag. This bag has character.

I love this purse. This is the first structured bag I’ve ever made. I was a little intimidated at first but the pattern was very well written and it was easier than I expected.
