Love this pattern! It makes a great graduation gift. Everyone loved their. Easy pattern to understand. Thanks!

Just finished this bag for my son and I am very pleased with the result It was very easy to follow the instructions as with all swoon patterns thank you for helping me make a great bag

Great pattern! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. See my blog, joyoflifedesigns.wordpress.com for a full analysis of the pattern + some mods.

Completely disagree with the person who said this is not a full pattern. The pieces that are cut without a printed pattern piece are all basic square/rectangles as with the vast majority of patterns. I would say for the detail given in assembly, this is comparable to any professional pattern maker. Great price too compared to many sellers who price upwards of $7.99 for their bag patterns.

Love this pattern. Made a swimming/gym bag for my daughter and now, my son requested one too! Great instructions and design.

Absolutely love this pattern. Bag went together following the directions though you need some sewing experience. I made the large bag for daughter who thought it was Vera Bradley!

This is not a full pattern… it is just an in depth tutorial with one pattern piece for the end of the duffel. in my opinion, if I pay for a pattern I would like the convenience of being able to lay out all the pieces and not have to worry about measuring out specific sized squares and trying to make them even. This “pattern” is not worth $6, you can find very similar tutorials all over the web for free.

Very simple pattern to follow and the final product is very nice! The medium size is great as a carry-on bag. I love how with Swoon patterns I am able to create bags which do not look home made. This was my third Swoon bag. I used the tip for avoiding the sagging lining shown in tutorials. Thank you for great patterns!

I love this pattern. I found it a pretty quick sew – especially with webbing – and it finished up beautifully. I made mine with the exterior in a prequilted cotton oxford fabric I bought in Japan and so I only interfaced with fusible woven. Can’t wait to make more of these for nieces and nephews for Christmas.

I’m so pleased with how my Dallas Duffel turned out. My niece asked for a larger swim bag, so I made her a medium and lined it with PUL. It went together well, looks pretty professional, and most importantly, she loves it!

Wow! Great reviews. I’m gonna have to get this one!! Thanks for the reviews. Very helpful!

I love Alicia’s designs. They are clean, modern, yet classically stylish. There are so many options to customize the bag to truly make it your own. These bags you can carry and enjoy for years, unlike many of the patterns I see out there today that are designed for the moment and will be out of style in a short time. Not Swoon bags…they are designs you can love for years to come!

Dallas is a fantastic pattern. I made the medium size for my husband and it was perfect for his sailing. The instructions are simple to follow and understand. I will be making several more of these in the different sizes as gifts for the boys in my family.

This is such a great pattern! Like all Swoon patterns, the instructions are very clear and easy to understand. There are some great options for this bag that will make it look professional and detailed. I love that now I can make something for the men in my life. Dallas sews up beautifully and is a wonderfully functional bag.

Dallas is such a fun bag to sew. It’s simple enough to get done fairly quickly. Assuming you don’t have two tiny helpers. But advanced enough to challenge you. It’s also easily modified to add picked where you want and don’t want. I’m starting my second one tonight.

Like all swoon patterns that I have made, I loved making this bag. I am not a “duffel bag” kind of person, but my daughter and husband are. I made both of them this bag and they used it on a recent family trip. Easy to follow, with detailed instructions. Everything you want in a pattern.

  17. Holly Tolman (verified owner)

Oh boy! My boys love that they get a bag too. My oldest boy is actually asking to sew one up for his next Webelos activity. Thanks for another well written pattern.
