This is a great pattern. The instructions are clear and I love the tips you include. Easy to follow. I love how mine turned out, it’s a nice size with a spacious interior. I will be using this over and over again.

Love this pattern! So simple and quick to make and a real joy to carry around! So many compliments received about this bag and for my first swoon pattern, I couldn’t be happier! A lovely way to start exploring bag making! Thank you 😀

  3. Linda Rose

Of course I love all Swoon patterns, but I really love Rosie. She is a simple sew and still has many of the gorgeous features that I’ve come to love about Swoon patterns. She’s roomy, but not HUGE and has an adjustable strap. I love the zippered pocket on the back, which keeps things secure and within easy reach. I also love the front flap which can be left plain or decorated with contrast fabric.

I love making this bag, I think I have made at least 4, but probably more… she is a lovely bag to use too and is an ever-popular gift for special friends. It is easy to customise the front flap panel, I have made a number of animal themed faces on this flap!
I also like to use either headliner or Soft and Stable, as this gives the finished bag a lovely robust structure.
Thank you for another amazing pattern!

I bought the subscription, and this is the first bag I made from it, and probably my 3rd or 4th bag ever. The instruction were very clear & well written. There were a few techniques that were new to me but I was able to easily put this bag together, and learn a lot during the process!

Rosie was the first pattern I made by Swoon, and my first proper purse project. Thanks to the excellent instructions, I was able to complete my Rosie within a few hours, from cutting to wearing. Fantastic pattern!

I am brand new to bag making and was worried I wouldn’t be happy with the results. Rosie was my first attempt at a bag — any bag. I was amazed at how clear and concise the pattern instructions were. They were amazingly easy to understand and follow. Even better, I was thrilled with the results and can’t wait to start my next Swoon Bag which I’m thinking will be India or Ethel. I also greatly appreciate the fact that Swoon has a very active and supportive Facebook community that is always to ready to offer applause or support when it is needed. I am a Swoon fan and it all started with Rosie!

Rosie was my first Swoon Bag. I need to make one for myself! It is a great shape & size …not too big & not too small! Instructions are excellent & love that you only need enough of feature fabric to make the flap. Fun to embellish! Another Great bag pattern from Swoon….;)

This is my all time favourite Swoon pattern. It’s classic shape and perfect size make it an awesome bag for everyday use. And an added bonus is that you only need a small piece of your favourite/rare/coveted fabric to feature on the flap. There is so much you can do to dress up or down this bag. Another awesome thing about Alicia’s patterns is that they don’t take 50+ pages of paper and ink to print out!

I love Swoon bags, but Rosie is my favorite. I’ve made so many. Easy pattern to follow, it allows for a lot of versatility, and it’s a great size.

Great pattern! Came together quickly and easily. I love how customize-able it is! Great for tweens, teens and ladies who want a hands free purse experience 😉 If you’ve never sewn a bag before but have a good understanding of sewing, you can easily master this bag.

I love, love, love this bag!!! I made it for my mom for Christmas and I can’t wait to make one for myself. I had never made a bag before and I had only put in one zipper and I think it turned out perfect. Thanks so much for another great pattern!!

  15. Deana

This was the first purse I have sewn and it was awesome. The directions were super clear and easy to follow and I loved how the first one turned out so much that I made two more. I’m a big fan. 🙂

I love crossbody bags and Rosie is my new favorite. I will never buy another bag again from any retail store. I can make my own and it is a super easy sew. Alicia’s directions are very clear and easy to understand. I have made a few of these and have tweaked some things to my personal taste. Such a fun bag. You can see one of mine at

The Rosie is great for those evenings out or just running around town. She has a great flap just begging for embellishment and fun fabrics to play with. I actually wove ribbons together to create my flap and loved the outcome. She has pockets inside and out and her strap is adjustable. Rosie just begs to be taken out for a fun time!

I made the Rosie over xmas. It is almost the perfect size. The adjustable strap meas you can take it from day crossover to evening over the shoulder. There are several ways to change it up it surly won’t disappoint.

Rosie Crossbody is the perfect sewing pattern. It holds more than it looks too. I’ve made 7 so far and they truly are amazing. I have also received 3 others in bag swaps that Swoon has hosted and couldn’t be any happier with the bag. Love it!

The Rosie Crossbody Bag is one of the finest patterns I’ve used. Rosie is a great size, big enough for essentials, and fits comfortably as a crossbody (my favorite) or shoulder bag. The pattern lends itself to personal interpretation, which I love. You can play with designing the front flap, add pockets, or skip pockets. I have made 5 of these and sold all but 1 instantly. Of course, I kept the best for myself! The directions are easy to follow. Great bag!!
