I LOVE this pattern. It definitely takes time to make, but it is sooooo worth it. It will be my carry-on bag for any future trips I make. Everyone who has seen it is very impressed.

Awesome Bag!! The pattern was very easy to follow and well written, It may have been a bit “ambitious” for my first attempt at bag making but I got it done and couldn’t be more proud! Thank you for all the fabulous patterns, I can’t wait to start my Nora!!

Quite a project this one. Lots of pattern pieces, and you need time and patience to sew this one. Thanks for the Sewalong I managed to finish up the bag. It’s not for the faint hearted but once it’s done, it’s a real beauty!

Beautiful bag but I did have a bit of a time following the instructions. I found a tutorial online that gave me a better idea of how to put the bag together so I followed that but still am not sure that I put interfacing on the right pieces. I do love the bag and will be making more with some little changes here and there.

Finished making my first stella last week and it turned out so cute. The pattern was very easy to follow. There are parts that I had to read a few times before doing something but in the end everything turned out wonderful. Very nice pattern and made a perfect diaper bag.

Made this for a carry on bag and it is the perfect size for me. The pattern was well written although I had to read carefully twice to totally understand the process. I loved how all the fused fleece and interfaced pieces fit together almost perfectly! The fabric doesn’t have the stretch and distortion common to my usual quilting patterns. If you have sewn before and can read and understand a pattern, this bag will work for you!

While a challenging pattern, the Stella Week-ender bag is a wonderful bag with plenty of space for all your weekend stuff. You will get so many “I CAN’T believe you MADE this!” comments all previous effort is forgotten (sort of like childbirth!) I did not find this pattern hard, rather, it was time-consuming. But, what could you expect from a bag with multiple pockets and professional details?? You’ll be so proud of yourself – do it!

One day when I have more patience I will finish this up. All the pieces are cut & fused! Just more time consuming than I expected and not easy to pick it up where I left off.

Pay attention to difficulty ratings on Stella… Time consuming and LOTS of pieces, but SOOOOOO worth the effort and time. I use my Stella on every business trip or weekend away still!

This makes a great bag. I’m a confident beginner and, although intimidated, I was able to make it.

When Stella and i first met I thought I might have to give up and move to another same style bag. So many pieces, so many great directions, so little time to sew. I decided she would be an only child. Then, then, I wanted a new bag as a carry on for an island trip. OK, Stella, maybe you deserve a sister. Stella II was born and I fell in love with her. She just takes a lot of time and love. Stella can’t be hurried along. Now everytime I carry Stella II someone falls in love with her and wants her.
All in all this has proven to be a great bag and probably my favorite out of all the Swoon patterns to date. Stella is well worth the time and trouble. I would recommend this pattern as a new peice of luggage! Sew her up, you won’t be sorry!

Though it’s intimidating to make if you’ve never sewn a bag before, this is a great bag. Difficulty ratings are there for a reason. Lol But that didn’t deter me. While it took some effort to make, I had a great bag for the hospital and an awesome overnight bag. But be warned, successfully turning out this bag will create an addiction to Swoon. I’ve now purchased another pattern and plan to start sewing tomorrow. 😉

Wow! This is definitely a work horse of a bag, lots of pieces, but don’t let that intimidate you, it comes together so beautifully in the end and will carry probably even the kitchen sink 🙂

I love all Swoon bags but Stella was my first big bag and will always be a love of mine. Lots of pieces, but this is bag making. Lots of room. 2 handle options. Love!

Sorry you had trouble, Joyce. I’ve sent you a refund. If you decide to try again in the future, the pattern pieces all get cut along the solid black lines. The pieces that need to be taped together get matched up at the corresponding letters. A to A, B to B, etc. If you need any further help, just send an email.

The pattern was very confusing once printed out – I couldn’t figure out how to tape it all together and I’ve been working with home printed patterns for many years now. I ended up looking for a different pattern from a different website.

What a fabulous bag this is!
Challenging yes but oh so worth it.
Read each step carefully , sort out what needs interfacing, fleece & stabilizer & label all your pieces before you start.
I don’t think I have ever been more proud of something I have created as I am about this bag 😀
