Extremely frustrated with this pattern , printed off exactly according to instructions. The pattern pieces come up much smaller , measured 14 inches across on the width Realised when i tried to fit fifteen inch pocket the mistake
..and yes I know I should have measured 2 inch square , but I have never had a problem before with other Swoon patterns . so I presumed it would be ok . I’m fact the 2 inch was actually 1/4 inch short of 2 inches . It’s a shame as I really loved the bag

This is a great tote. Attractive, highly functional and a fairly easy sew (though a bit time-consuming). If you’re wonder about the 4 stars though it’s because this is the first Swoon pattern I didn’t feel was perfect for what it is supposed to deliver. Don’t get me wrong- I already plan to make more, but with modifications to the gusset. I hated the gusset in this pattern; it reminds me of something from a 1950s dress – barely functional. Having seen a lot of tribal fusion belly dance cholis and Viking re-enactment clothing, I know gussets can be better utilized, so I’m going to widen it a bit and see if I can make that work.

I adore making and carrying all the Swoon totes! I had been using the Sophia beach tote as my everyday bag for the better part of the last two years but needed a crossbody purse I could wear while toting my two young kids around everywhere. This bag is simplistically stylish and functional and I have loved wearing it for the past week and being hands-free! It is large enough to keep diapers and wipes, but small enough that it isn’t bulky and gets in the way when I’m running everyday errands. Love it!

Typically for Swoon Patterns, this is one that is well thought out and the finished bag works how it is supposed to. Good and clear instructions. Relatively easy sew; the hardest part being the gusset but the instructions guide through that very clearly. Super pattern to play about with fabric combinations.

Dress it up or dress it down. Elegant but practical depending upon the fabric chosen. Love it!

I also had the problem with getting the 2-inch sample square when printing at 100% size but I just resized it so that I got the right measurement. There’s a lot of pieces to assemble but overall an easy sew. I made this for my 9yo so the crossbody strap was too long so I made it into an adjustable strap instead. She loves all the pockets and the deep pockets.

I had difficulty downloading the pattern. Printing at actual size or 100% meant that the 2 inch sample square measured 2.4 inches. Very confusing. The pattern was the correct size but the sample 2 inch square wasn’t. Once I got passed this, the pattern was great.

Really gorgeous bag, very deep and just about perfect for a trip. The only issue for me with the length is a little long for my 5’2 stature, and the strap is not adjustable. Easy fixes for me, just add a adjustable strap.

Loved this pattern. Especially the interesting gusset and all the pockets.
