Windham Fabrics Tidal Lace Blog Hop

TL_wheel_cropped2I was lucky enough to get my hands on some brand new yet-to-be-released fabric (coming in January 2015!): Tidal Lace designed by Kim Andersson. I made a few bags with it and here I am, jumping in the Tidal Lace Blog Hop.

The main fabric print is a vibrant assortment of sea life so it was a pretty easy decision to make the Sophia Beach Tote. I also made a Coraline wristlet and Coraline clutch because why not?

I usually use a heavier duck cloth for the bottom reinforcement and handles of Sophia, but in keeping with the collection, I chose to use one of the coordinating basics and interface it with Pellon Shape-flex for a bit more body and strength.

Either the handled or wristlet version is ideal for beach trips because it lays flat taking up next to no room – making packing easy. Grab it to carry your phone and keys when you’re headed out for a short walk on the beach.

The Coraline Clutch handles are not easy to perfect, but I got lucky and nailed these ones. 🙂

I really enjoyed working with this fabric collection, they are even more beautiful in person – look for them when they hit your local quilt shop in January! In the meantime, check them out in action in the Tidal Lace LookBook.
